happy 4th birthday mackenzie...

The celebrations have been in full swing for Mackenzie's 4th birthday. She had her party at Little Stompers on Sunday, a local play place where kids get to run around crazy, eat party food and drink red cordial...wheeeeeeee!!! She had a fantastic time with her little friends. She was so excited to have her Lightning McQueen cake finally. She had been planning this cake since her last birthday. The celebrations continued on Tuesday when she took 24 pirate cupcakes to share with her friends at pre-school. Today was her actual birthday so we went out to lunch at Towradgi Beach Hotel, Mackenzie's restaurant of choice, and had a great meal and the kids had a great time playing in the play area there. We had a freddo frog ice-cream cake for afternoon tea then tonight we went to the pre-school to celebrate Jordan's graduation. Needless to say, I am exhausted. I have been working long shifts every night at the Post and it is definitely starting to catch up with me. I am definitely counting down to Christmas when I hope to have a bit of a rest. We shall see. Here are some pictures of Mackenzie's birthday celebrations.

long overdue...

I have not done a very good job keeping this blog up to date. Things have been crazy lately. These are some of the things that are keeping us busy right now:-

-Jordan preparing for her end of year dance concert
-Orientation for big school
-Jordan's Graduation from pre-school
-Mackenzie's 4th birthday
-end of year celebrations at pre-school
-Taylor crawling around opening up cupboards and drawers and pulling everything out and trashing every room she goes into
-Kelly organising a new kitchen
-Kelly working every night at the Post (those square Christmas cards are doing my head in!)
-trying to get organised for Christmas (OMG it's next week!)

I will update again soon I promise!

Here are some recent photos of the girls...

taylor's first swimming lesson...

Was not a huge success. It was all smiles before she got into the water, but then it was not so fun :o( Hopefully it will be better next week.

birthday update...

Well I can't believe that my baby is one already. Honestly, where has this year gone? Taylor has had a wonderful birthday celebration with a party at Nanny and Poppy's place on Saturday then her actual birthday yesterday, also celebrated at Nanny and Poppy's. She got so many beautiful presents and had a fabulous time with our family and friends. Here is the usual monthly update, followed by some photos from the past few days. At one year old Taylor:-
-is standing and "crusing" around, but not yet walking
-talking a lot, her favourite words are baby, mumma, hello and bye
-loves to wave, clap her hands and do "high five"
-has two bottom teeth, one upper front tooth and two more top ones waiting to pop through anytime
-weighs approximately 10.2kg
-will not sit still, not even for 30 seconds
-is not particularly interested in toys, but loves fridge magnets, kitchen utensils and playing in Mackenzies room, especially with the toy kitchen
-loves to bang things together, the more noise, the better
-loves pretty much all kinds of food and is starting to eat "family food"
-has absolutely no idea how to drink from a cup but we are working on this
-has 2-3 bottles per day, gradually transitioning from formula to cow's milk
-is chewing on everything she can get her hands (or should I say mouth) on
-loves cakes, muffins and other sweet foods - we let her have littles tastes
-loves ice cream - the colder the better
-adores Jordan and Mackenzie but gets quite frustrated when they get in her face
-is still the most adorable, sweet baby ever!

oh, and one more...

Filing mummy's papers...

new tricks...

In the past week Taylor seems to have suddenly grown up. I still can't quite get my head around the fact that she will be one year old in less than two weeks. Since she started crawling there has been no stopping her. She now pulls herself up to standing, using anything - the lounge, her activity table, in the cot and your legs if you stand still long enough. She has also started holding the bottle for herself...about time with that one! She is one clever little girl.
