Kim Archer's Class

I attended a class on Saturday with one of my all-time favourite scrappers - Kim Archer. We made a gorgeous desk calendar. It was so much fun. Kim was just gorgeous IRL and it was lovely to meet her in person after admiring her work for so long. She has a daughter called Capri, which is where I first got the idea for Mackenzie's middle name. Sally Donovan was also in the class and I am a fan of her work too, so that was cool. I had taken some of her classes several years ago at The Scrapbook Gallery. All in all, it was a fun day and I ended up with a really cool desk calendar.

D-Day At The Gym

Well, it's been a busy couple of weeks. Jordan is in her third week of kindy now. The first week went okay, last week was a total disaster, but things seem to be looking up this week. This morning when I dropped her off she wasn't crying, so that is a definite improvement. When I called there a couple of hours okay she was doing okay. They said she was still asking for me, but she wasn't crying. That makes me feel so much better. Vic's Mum and Dad came over to stay with Mackenzie this morning so that I could go to the gym. It was my inaugural visit. I did a cardio-boxing class. What a workout! My arms and legs feel like lead. I can hardly type...lol. Tomorrow I won't be able to move. It was a lot of fun though and I am looking forward to doing more of these classes and doing some weights, etc. This is my goal for 2006, to tone up. Last year my goal was to lose the excess weight, which I did, so now it's time to get rid of the flab. If the gym doesn't work, then I will be looking at surgery...lol.
It's so quiet at the moment. Mackenzie is sleeping, so when she wakes up we will go and pick up Jordan, but right now, you could hear a pin drop! So on that note, I will go and do some scrapbooking. Here is a layout that I completed this week. I love this picture of the girls. it was taken down at Mum's place with Jordan and Mackenzie riding in Jordan's BMW. They can both squeeze in together and ride (perhaps not anymore, this was taken about 6 months ago now).

My Latest Effort

Here is the layout that I completed yesterday while Jordan was at kindy and Mackenzie with my Mum and Dad. As you can tell I'm a bit behind as Jordan is only about 16 months old in this photo! It was my aim over Christmas to get caught up with my old photos and I am just about there.

Jordan Goes To Kindy

Well, the big day has finally arrived. After a false start (due to a bout of conjunctivitis) Jordan started kindy (day care) today, on the day that she turned 2 1/2. She was very excited to be going which was a great sign. I was very nervous. After saying how much I was looking forward to this for the past 6 months, I didn't get much sleep last night. She was fine when I dropped her off. No tears, from her that is. I had a few as I was walking to the car. I was fretting all day and couldn't really concentrate on anything. My mum suggested that I go and get a pedicure (a Christmas gift from her to me) which I did, but as I was sitting there I realised that I'd left my mobile phone at all. What if the kindy had to call me? What if something was wrong? I left and came home right away, ruining my lovely pink toenails that weren't quite dry when I put my shoes on. Oh well. Other than that, I scrapped a layout of Jordan when she was about 16 months old at the beach down at Mum and Dad's place (will post later). I picked her up at around 3pm and she was very happy to see me. The teacher said that she had cried a couple of times, but for the most part she enjoyed her first day. She made lots of new friends and did some great activities. She is looking forward to going again tomorrow. Lets hope that when I have to drop her off, she is still happy to be there. All in all, things are off to a pretty good start.
