Dress Up Day

Today is "Dress Up Day" at Kindy, so Jordan decided that she wanted to go as Snow White - she decided this last night I might add, and we don't own a Snow White costume. So Jordan and I were at Target at 9am waiting for the store to open so that we could get a Snow White costume. Amazingly there was one Snow White costume AND it was her size. Blow me down with a feather! Of course as soon as I grabbed it off the rack she decided that she wanted to be Cinderella and they didn't have Cinderella in her size. So Snow White it was, and she looked absolutely gorgeous!

Quickie

Here is probably the quickest layout I have produced. Just a very simple one of Mackenzie and I. The photos were taken in October last year.

"Oh What A Night"...

"Late December back in '63, what a very special time for me, I remember what a night" Oops.....just reminiscing about Saturday night. What a fabulous time Sandy and I had at Club Retro on our girls weekend. The songs were fantastic and we sang and danced our butts off. In fact we sang so loudly that I still have a husky voice three days later...lol. So here's the lowdown on the weekend.
On Friday afternoon Mackenzie woke up from her sleep with a 38.7 temperature. I'm freaking out thinking there goes my weekend! So down the hatch goes the Panadol and I wait to see the fever disappear. By 8pm she's not better, so more Panadol it is. By midnight she is worse, so I had to bring out the big guns. Look out Nurofen, here we come. The poor little darling couldn't get to sleep, which meant no-one in the house could get to sleep. Even Jordan kept getting up and coming out of her room (not unusual, just more annoying when we already had one awake!). I ended up dragging Mackenzie's cot mattress into our room and putting it onto the floor next to me and sticking her there, but she still wouldn't settle. By 2am I gave up and put her in our bed, then in comes Jordan again, so she ended up sleeping on the mattress on the floor. There was no way in the world that four people were going to fit in a queen size bed. Soooooo, anyhoo, I was seriously thinking by this stage that my weekend outlook was not looking good. Fortunately, when we all woke up on Saturday morning, all was well. Not a fever in sight. YAY!!!
Sandy arrived around lunch time and we drove into the city and checked into the lovely Grace Hotel. Then we hit the shops. Sadly, as is always the way when you have money to spend and time to try on all the clothes in the world, you can't actually find anything that you like! Very frustrating, but it was still fun. So after several hours spent in the Myer City Store we headed to PJ O'Briens Irish Pub for a few glasses of wine, then headed out to dinner at a fabulous Italian restaurant at King St Wharf. Absolutely beautiful! Then it was off to Club Retro to boogie the night away. We collapsed into bed at around 2am after a wonderful night.
The next day we hit DFO Factory Outlets for another very disappointing shopping expedition, but nonetheless a FANTASTIC weekend. I hope that we can do it again another time. The kids coped perfectly well without me, so I don't see why I can't do it again. Jordan spent a very enjoyable weekend with Nanny and Poppy and Mackenzie had fun staying at home with Vic. It will probably be this time next year before I get to do it again, but oh well, it will give me something to look forward to.
Now, it's back to reality. I'm at work, I have a headache, and I feel like I'm coming down with the flu. I hope that I'm just tired after working 20 hours in two days.

Layout of Jordan's First Day At Kindy

I just finished this layout of Jordan going to kindy on her first day. She still cries when I drop her off, but she is handling it a lot better now. She really does love it and is so excited to go. I think it's just hard for her when I first leave. It's been 7 weeks now, so I think she should be getting used to it by now. She has made lots of friends and is always singing new songs that she has learnt there.

Beautiful Pic

I just love this photo of Jordan. I know I'm biased, but isn't she gorgeous?

Layout of Mackenzie

This is a layout of Mackenzie pulling some cute faces. She was 7 months old in these pictures. I just love the middle one!

Happy Wednesday

It's been a while since I posted. I have been very busy in the evenings, between going to the gym and going out to dinner with friends. It's been quite a treat! I am really excited because this weekend I am having a "girly weekend" with one of my best friends, Sandy. She lives in Canberra so we don't get to see each other that often. We were flatmates when I first moved to Sydney in 1988...wow, I can't believe it's been that long! We are spending the weekend in a hotel in the city and we plan to go shopping, have a nice dinner and go dancing at Club Retro. I can't wait. I'm nervous about leaving the kinds though because I've never done that before, but I think they are old enough now for me to be able to do it. Vic will have his hands full looking after them for the weekend. It will be a real experience for him. I'm sure they will have fun. Other than that, not much exciting to tell. I am enjoying some quiet time at the moment with both the girls asleep. It's quite a rare occurrence now as Jordan doesn't usually sleep in the day time any more, so I am making the most of it while I can. Usually Wednesdays are a bit of a rough day for us, as there is a bit of an adjustment after me being at work for two days, but today has been really nice. The girls and I went to Gloria Jeans for coffee and a muffin this morning, now they are sleeping, then this afternoon my friend Nicci and her daughter Natasha are coming over for a visit, so all in all, it is a Happy Wednesday!

My Star Book

I have been to three scrapbook classes in 2 weeks. I think that's my record! I attended a class at my favourite Scrapbook store, Scrapbook HQ. We made a gorgeous star shaped mini-album. I made mine as gift for Mackenzie for her 1st Birthday. I am so happy with how it turned out. While I was doing the class, Vanessa, the teacher, mentioned that she had read Kim Archer's blog and there was a mention of me on it. Wow, what a surprise. Here is what she said...."And I also got to meet Kelly Cruz (lovely girl) who has a daughter McKenzie (LOVE that name and it was one of the choices we had before Capri was born)..annnyway, Kelly has the name Capri for McKenzie's middle name!!! And she chose it because she had seen my Capri's name in one of the scrapping mags! How cool is that!!!"
I was very excited to see that I had made a nice impression.
