2007 Wrap Up

Wow, where has this year gone? When I think about everything we have done, it's no wonder the time seems to have gone so fast.
We started off the year by staying at Mum and Dad's, where the kids enjoyed going to the beach everyday. Then it was back to Beverly Hills and back to the usual routine of work, Kindy, swimming, etc. We had some exciting news in early March when we found out that we were going to have a new addition to our family later in the year. As usual, I suffered the most horrendous morning sickness, lasting 24/7 for around 5 months. In April we made a huge decision to sell our family home at Beverly Hills and move down the coast to be closer to my Mum and Dad and our good friends. This meant keeping the house spotless every day as not only did we have open house every Saturday, but the agent would bring prospective buyers through on a daily basis. This almost drove me mad...my house had never been so clean and tidy! After 7 weeks on the market we accepted an offer on the house and in August we packed up and moved into a rented house at Corrimal. All the while we had been looking for a house to buy but unfortunately we could not find anything suitable. Jordan celebrated her 4th birthday with a party at "Funarama". A great time was had by all. In early October we finally found a house that we both loved and we put in an offer. After several weeks of negotiation, we were finally successful in buying our house. October 29th was the most exciting day of the year when our beautiful princess, Taylor Sierra, was born. Since the moment she was born she has been an absolute angel. We moved house again on December 11th and later that week we celebrated Mackenzie's 3rd birthday with a party at our new home, complete with a jumping castle for the day. The rain didn't dampen the fun, the kids had a ball regardless. The next week we celebrated our first Christmas in our new home. The kids were totally spoilt and got everything they asked for and more. Here it is, 9pm on New Year's Eve and we are still unpacking boxes and putting up new furniture. Here's to a relaxing 2008! (yeah, right!) Wishing you and your families a safe and happy new year.

My little angel is two months old today. She is such a wonderful baby. A total joy to have around. I am so very lucky.

merry christmas...

So, it's a little bit late. I just got the broadband connected (thank goodness) so I thought I'd better do a quick update before Christmas and New Year is totally over. The kids had a wonderful Christmas. They were totally spoilt, as usual, and got so many beautiful presents. Santa delivered the trampoline, as requested, so they were very happy with that. Grandma and Vovo came down on Christmas morning then we had lunch at Mum and Dad's with Darren and Scott. Later on we visited our friends James and Michelle and got to catch up with them and Darran and Wendy, along with all of the kids. I don't know who was more exhausted, the children or the adults...lol. I can't believe that it's all over for another year.

happy (belated) birthday mackenzie...

Ack...I have been waiting very impatiently for my broadband to be connected at our new house, but unfortunately it won't be happening until next week. I was hoping to be able to to upload some pics from Mackenzie's birthday without it takinh hours, but nevermind. Hopefully I can get them to upload eventually. She had a lovely birthday party on Sunday. It rained all day, which was a bit of a bummer, but the kids still enjoyed themselves on the jumping castle, despite the constant drizzle. On Monday we took her to Little Stompers, a local play centre, then to McDonalds for lunch. Nanny and Poppy came over for dinner and then it stopped raining long enough for us to go outside and give Mackenzie her Dora bike. She loved it and got to ride it up and down the driveway for a while.

last day at kindy...

Jordan and Mackenzie had their last day at Kindy on Friday. It was their Christmas Concert and Party Day, so it was a fitting farewell. The concert was lovely, I love watching the kids sing their songs. Santa (aka Poppy) presented each of the children with their scrapbook full of artwork and their end of year reports. They both got fantastic reports and their artwork is lovely. Such a great keepsake. It has prompted me to buy some blank scrapbooks and start keeping the stuff that they do at home. Almost every day we draw or paint or make things, so I really need to keep some of these creations for them to look back on when they are older.
It was really sad to say goodbye to their wonderful teachers, especially Miss Lesa, Miss Christina and Miss Maria. They have been amazing and the kids just adore them. I really hope they settle in well to their new Kindy next year and have teachers that are as caring as those at Kindy Care.

In other news, our renovations continue at the house. We move on Tuesday, so there isn't a lot of time left to get things done. Vic and my Dad have been so busy working there and I have spent so much time there co-ordinating tradesmen and unpacking boxes and cleaning (oh my gosh, do not even go there - what a mess!). Mum has had Jordan and Mackenzie so that we can all get the work done. Poor Taylor has slept through the most unbelievable noise at the house. It will seem very quiet to her once we move in. I haven't even started packing yet at Corrimal. I will get to that soon. I can't wait until this move is over and we can settle in and enjoy the holidays. We have Mackenzie's birthday party next weekend so I need to organise that first, then Christmas the week after. It will be really nice to stop and slow down for a few days after that.
