one month (and one day) old...

Gosh, the time is going so quickly. One month old already. Her sisters are just as fascinated with her now as they were when she was born, so they still fight over who gets to hold her, get her nappy ready, help wash her in the bath, etc, etc. I will be glad when the novelty wears off a little bit.
At one month old she weighs approximately 3.8kg and is around 50cm long. She still sleeps most of the time when she's not feeding, but is just now starting to stay awake for a little while in between feeds. She is very alert and recognises our voices. She turns her head towards me when I speak. I can't wait for the smiles and gurgles to come. She is such a gorgeous baby. We love her so much.

our house...

The sale was finalised late yesterday afternoon, yay! We can now get some work done to the house and move in before Mackenzie's birthday. I can't wait.

an eventful weekend...

Mackenzie came down with tonsilitis again on Saturday, no surprises there, but on Sunday she came out with this unusual rash on her face and neck. I took her to the medical centre and the doctor didn't know what it was from. There was a slight chance that it was meningitis so he referred us to Children's Emergency. The poor little thing had to have blood taken and a canula put in her arm just in case, but fortunately the bloood results came back negative. It was very scary.
In other news, Taylor is four weeks old. She is such an angel. I almost forget that she is here, she is so quiet. I'm sure that will change as she gets older.
We were supposed to get the keys to our house yesterday but due to some bungle with the certificate of title, it has been delayed until at least Thursday afternoon. I am sooooooo not happy. I had arranged to have some work done later in the week so that we can get moved in and have everything done before Mackenzie's party in two weeks time, but it looks like I will have to cancel. Getting tradesmen is so difficult, even more so getting work done between now and Christmas. So frustrating. Oh well, nothing I can do about it. Hopefully everything will go through on Thursday.

the perfect santa photo...

Yesterday we took the kids to Eastgardens to have their photo taken with Santa. We weren't expecting Mackenzie to be in the photo after last year's shenanigans (see November 2006 archives if you want a good laugh). I had already decided that I would not get myself or the kids stressed about it. I figured the photo would just be Jordan and Taylor. It goes to show you that you should never underestimate a two (almost three) year old. They are full of surprises. All I can say is "it's a Christmas miracle"...lol.

twisted sister...

Something made me think of this yesterday...lol. I had a good laugh at myself when I remembered all of the words of the intro to the music video. All you teenagers of the 80's should remember this classic music video.

two weeks old...

My little angel is two weeks old already. I wish the time would slow down, it's going too fast. I heard on the tv this morning that it's 43 days until Christmas. I can't quite get my head around that! We have Mackenzie's birthday in between that so I know that Christmas will be here before I know it.
We had a little photo shoot to try and get some nice shots. After taking about 40 photos, I managed to get one or two that were nice.

three girls in the bath...

Last night Taylor had a bath with her older sisters. She managed to do this without getting swiped in the head by a flying face washer courtesy of Mackenzie (with a little help from Daddy).

halloween dress ups...

Jordan and Mackenzie had a dress up day at Kindy for Halloween. I was in the hospital after having Taylor so they came to visit me on their way. Jordan was a beautiful fairy and Mackenzie was Buzz Lightyear.

in three weeks...

We get the keys. I can't wait!

one week old...

My darling Taylor is one week old. She is such a good baby, pretty much waking only for her feeds every 3 - 4 hours. Jordan and Mackenzie are so good with her. They want to hold her all the time so one of us has to be pretty close at hand, especially if it's Mackenzie's turn. When she decides she's had enough she just gets up and you have to be close by to make sure Taylor doesn't roll onto the floor! Jordan is great. She is really careful with her and she is a great helper. So far we are managing really well, so let's hope it stays this way :o)

introducing taylor sierra cruz...

Our beautiful princess was born on Monday 29th October at 5.15pm. I went into hospital on Sunday night as I was not feeling well and not able to breathe properly. They kept me in for the night and I was induced the next day. After an uncomfortable 5.5 hour labour, Taylor was born. She is absolutely perfect and so far a dream baby. She is feeding well and sleeping well, what more can you ask for? Her sisters are besotted with her and just can't leave her alone. I can see that she will be very spoilt.
